Jessica T. Fauntleroy, MSW, LCSW-C is a West Baltimore native as well as an award nominated bestselling author/blogger, clinical social worker, entreprenuer, community advocate/organizer and childhood trauma survivor.
A child of teenage parents, Jessica’s childhood and adolescence were consumed by issues like child abuse, substance abuse, food insecurity, mental illness,neglect and extreme poverty. She was able to overcome these traumas and difficulties with the support of school, community and church. Her childhood experiences inspired her to serve others living in similar situations.
She has written and published three transformational memoirs (collectively referred to as "The Royalty Trilogy") that inspire and empower readers to transform their traumas into power. The series helps readers understand and overcome the impact of childhood trauma . It explores how generational curses such as teen pregnancy, substance abuse, child abuse, poverty, abusive relationships, absent parents and community based violence impact relationships and quality of life in adulthood. She is also the creator of "The Live Royal Blog" which is a blogsite where individuals share their stories of overcoming obstacles and the "Live Royal Discussions"show where Ms. Fauntleroy interviews authors, creators and other changemakers about what obstacles they overcame to become successful. Jessica's motto is "Trauma is not our trademark, our healing is". As a West Baltimore native, she understands the socioeconomic and mental health issues that impact youth and families in the city. Jessica provides support, compassion, and guidance through business and professional contributions to the city. She is a member of the Parent and Community Advisory Board, the Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce, the Baltimore City Womens Commission - Youth and Education Committee and is a proud alumni of the Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business Community Consulting Lab. She is a proud alumni of Morgan State University and Howard University School of Social Work with bachelors and masters degrees in social work. She is a licensed certified social worker - clinical in the state of Maryland and owner of Restoring Destiny Mental Health Services and J'elle Inspires. Prior to starting Restoring Destiny, Ms. Fauntleroy spent 15 years providing clinical social work services in various setting including medical institutions, non profit organizations and government organizations. J'elle Inspires helps youths and parents to overcome the impact of emotional trauma through books, workshops and online content. The content is based on first-hand experience of growing up and living in West Baltimore and the socioeconomic and mental health issues that were overcome in the process. Restoring Destiny Mental Health Services provides individuals and families in Baltimore City with the evidence based mental health services that will equip them with the skills needed to improve their quality of life. Ms. Fauntleroy is divorced and lives in Baltimore with her three beautiful children.
